Joel is perhaps the most likeable, fun and interesting person we know. His spare time is filled with the breeding of Orchid Mantises (heís a past President of the UK Mantis Association), climbing, mountain biking, self-sufficient gardening and Afrobeat music.
His postgraduate degree left him with some impressive pub stories too. Joelís life-long love of elephants lead to him studying their habitat preferences for his thesis in southern Africa (they like grassland with some trees and access to plenty of water). Whilst there, he also rode ostriches and accidentally emptied Durbanís main water dam causing a week long water shortage (he pulled a plug out on some incorrect advice).
